Student Academic Services Assistants

As Student Academic Services Assistants (SASAs), we all help out Briana, Charlie, and Taranbir in the RC Academic Services office! We’re responsible for setting up/taking down coffee hours, maintaining billboards around East Quad, and a bunch of the other small day-to-day tasks that help keep the RC running smoothly. If you ever see any of us in the office, please feel free to drop in and say hi — we’d love to see you!

HI MY LOVES! My name is Yeslin Amarante, and I am a second year student studying International Studies with a minor in Law, Justice, & Social Change and Urban Studies.

I am the BIGGEST Twilight fan ever! I rewatch the entire series every Thanksgiving with my sister. Apart from being a Twilight fan, I really enjoy dancing and listening/playing music like Bachata, Merengue, or Dembow.

This is my first year working as an RC SASA but I was involved with the RC Academic Services office as the Community Promotions (CP) Intern during my first year.

Hey all, my name is Sam Dykhouse (he/him)! I am a sophomore from Holland, MI studying Sociology in LSA and STP in the RC, with an interest in environmental justice and activism. Outside of class, I’m very involved with different music groups on campus including the Michigan Pops Orchestra and the RC Chamber Music ensemble, where I play double bass.

Music has always been something super important to me, and I’m always seeking out new opportunities to play music of different genres and styles. I’m also super into traveling, and enjoy finding weird and under-the-radar trip destinations. I’m super excited to start working as a SASA and to join the RC Academic Services team this semester and can’t wait to meet all of you!

Hi there! My name is Beatrice Fleischmann (she/her) and I am a sophomore on the pre-med track studying Biology, Health, and Society (BHS) with a minor in Spanish; I hope to go into women’s health.

In my free time, one of my favorite things to do is put on a show like the Office, Modern Family, etc. and crochet, make jewelry, or color! I also really enjoy reading, and when I get into a good book I can disappear for days at a time. One of my long-time goals has been to become fluent in Spanish, and the RC Spanish program has really pushed me along that path!

As a second-year SASA, I am really looking forward to getting to know the new SASAs on the team, integrating myself even further into the RC community, and meeting new people.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the RC Spanish program or just want to chat!

Hi! My name is Naomi Moran Guzman, and I am a sophomore from San Francisco, California. I am currently looking to pursue a dual degree between LSA and the School of Public Health on the pre-med track. Outside of medicine, I’m very interested in arts and crafts even though I’m not the most artistic person out there.

I’m currently learning how to crochet through the RC Crochet club, which I am one of the leaders of.  I also know a lot about the university and all of the resources they offer so if you ever have any questions let me know!

This is kind of random, but I really love reptiles. I find them super interesting and I love learning about the different species, morphs, and environments snakes have. I’m so excited to be back as a SASA this year and I look forward to meeting anyone who comes into the office!

Howdy y’all, my name is Quinn Jaworski (she/her)! I am a senior from Ohio studying International Studies (ISNC) and French. I am interested in humanitarianism and different concepts of justice.

I also love to travel, so I hope to find a career that combines these passions. Last summer I studied abroad in Grenoble, France. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about the application process!

On campus, I am very involved with the Women’s Glee Club and Midnight Blue a cappella groups. I love music and singing, so it was important for me to find a group of people who I can share my interests with.

I am a member of Zeta Omega Eta,  a sorority focused on intersectional feminist activism. In my free time, I enjoy a run while listening to a good album (IGOR is an amazing running album).

Fun fact: I am a crazy cat lady even though they make me get hives! I am excited to get back to work as a SASA and meet as many fellow RC students as possible :)

Hey there! I'm Sally Mo, a freshman student in the RC program, majoring in Cognitive Science with a focus on the Computation and Cognition track, and minoring in UX design. I am bilingual and speak Chinese. My RC language is Spanish, and I am a member of the RC Letters forum and RC MAP.

Outside of RC, I am also a participant in UROP, and I love watching basketball games, playing mahjong and taking random photos of nature. A fun fact about me is that I went skygliding and almost threw up in the sky. I look forward to working in the team this year and can’t wait to help welcome future RCers into the community!

Hello!! My name’s Camille Nagy, and I’m a sophomore studying English and creative writing with the hopes of someday being an editor! I’m very involved in the writing community on campus and can commonly be found watching Monterey Aquarium livestreams with the RC Review, hosting Creative Writing Forum meetings, and frantically trying to meet my deadlines for the Michigan Daily Arts’ book beat. I also love listening to music, traveling, and stopping people to say hi to their dogs!

I’m super excited to be working with the RC Academic Services team and all the other SASA members this year; if you ever see me working, please don’t hesitate to come say hello!
