The 23rd Conference for African American Researchers in the Mathematical Sciences (CAARMS) was held from June 21-24, 2017 at the University of Michigan. During the poster session, Graduate Student Robert Walker received the award for having the best theory, and gave a presentation about his research in the area of combinatorial commutative algebra and algebraic geometry.
