Extracurricular Activities

Students attending a Math Club talk in 2023

While it is important to do well in your studies, interacting with your fellow math students will greatly enrich your undergraduate experience. Departmental sponsored activities designed to foster this interaction include social gatherings, student club eventsmath talks, competitions, outreach opportunities, and teaching experiences - to stay informed about extracurricular activities, subscribe to the Department’s weekly newsletter by emailing math-undergrad-office@umich.edu and ask to be added to the Math Club MCommunity Group. Additionally, both the East Hall Mathematics Atrium and the C.J. Nesbitt Undergraduate Commons (2075 East Hall) are excellent places to relax, study, or converse with other students of mathematics.
