Professor Stephen DeBacker, Associate Professor Sarah Koch, and Associate Professor Yunus Zeytuncu (UM-Dearborn) have been named Faculty Structured Outreach Support Fellows through the UM Center for Educational Outreach. This support is being used to run a pilot of the Math Corps program and UM. The program runs for four weeks and is for middle and high school students from Ypsilanti Public Schools. In July 2019, 40 middle school students and 20 high school students participated in Math Corps at UM. The Math Corps program, which originated at Wayne State University with students from the Detroit Public Schools, has been running for 27 years and has proven highly successful.
