PLEASE READ THIS PAGE TOP TO BOTTOM IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND THE ECONOMICS APRIL 2017​ COMMENCEMENT! IT CONTAINS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE TICKETS!

You will be asked to complete a two-question RSVP form to confirm your participation in the Economics Commencement Ceremony on Friday, April 28​, 2017​ at 8pm at the Power Center and provide information about your ticket needs.  You and your guests will all need to present your tickets in order to enter the Power Center the evening of the ceremony.

The required RSVP form will be available online from noon on Thursday, March 9, 2017 through March 20​, 2017​ at 3:30 pm. For family members unable to attend the ceremony, the Department will livestream the event online (the world-wide URL will be announced the week of graduation by email and a link to the live stream will be available on our website), as well as provide a link to an online recording, which will be available on the Department’s website in mid-May.

 

IMPORTANT: POWER CENTER TICKET ELIGIBILITY

Students who have graduated in December 2016​, or who will graduate in April 2017​, or August 2017​​ ​are eligible for three (3) tickets to the Economics Commencement Ceremony, provided they have applied for graduation on or before March 10, 2017​ (this is also the deadline to apply for graduation in order to be included in the University's commencement bulletin).  Please note that the 3 tickets include one for the student and two for guests!!!

 

IMPORTANT: GUARANTEEING OR RELEASING YOUR 3 POWER CENTER TICKETS

You must complete and submit the RSVP form no later than March 20, 2017​ at 3:30 pm in order to guarantee your 3 tickets.  Seating is limited at the Power Center, so in order to accommodate as many families as possible, if you do not plan to use any or some of your guaranteed tickets, please complete Question #1 and #2 of the form no later than March 20​ at 3:30 pm. The link to the form will be sent to you the day before the registration starts.

 

IMPORTANT: ADDITIONAL TICKETS

Graduating students can request additional tickets via a waitlist. Please be considerate of your fellow graduates and only request the tickets that you actually need.  Requesting additional tickets on the RSVP form will automatically add your name to the ticket waitlist.  After submitting the form (and anytime thereafter), you can view your position on the list online.

CRITICAL INFORMATION: ADDITIONAL TICKETS WILL BE ALLOCATED BASED ON YOUR POSITION ON THE WAIT LIST CREATED BY THE RSVP FORM.  YOUR PRIORITY ON THE LIST IS THE DATE/TIME YOU SUBMIT THE RSVP FORM. WE WILL FIRST ALLOCATE 2 EXTRA TICKETS TO THE THE STUDENTS ON THE WAITLIST STARTING AT THE TOP OF THE LIST AND MOVING DOWN. IF THERE ARE ANY MORE TICKETS LEFT AFTER THE FIRST ROUND, WE WILL ALLOCATE THEM IN TWO TICKET INCREMENTS THE SAME WAY WE DID IT IN THE FIRST ROUND AND SO ON. EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS ABOUT ALLOCATIONS OF WAITLISTED TICKETS WILL BEGIN THE WEEK OF MARCH 27​th. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT ONE WILL RECEIVE ANY OR ALL OF THE TICKETS ONE HAS WAITLISTED FOR!!!

 

TICKET PICK-UP

Tickets that have been guaranteed by the RSVP form may be picked up starting ​Thursday, April ​6​ from the Economics Main Office (238 Lorch Hall; open 8am-5pm Mon-Fri).  You will need to bring your M-Card to pick up your tickets.  If you are studying abroad or you no longer live in Ann Arbor and will be unable to pick up your tickets yourself, please email omustata@umich.edu.  Any guaranteed tickets not picked up by Friday, April 21​, 201​7​ will be considered abandoned and will be offered to those on the waitlist.

April 21 5:00 pm After this date you will no longer be able to pick up your tickets. After this date, you tickets will be considered abandoned and they will be distributed to the the students on the waitlist.  
April 28 8:00 pm

The graduation ceremony. Doors open at 7:30pm. There are no assigned seats, so please tell your family to come early.

 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

The 2017 Economics Undergraduate Commencement will take place on Friday, ​April 28, 201​7​ at 8pm at Power Center. Caps and gowns are required.

The program begins with a faculty and graduate processional. There will be a speaker (yet-to-be-announced). During the program, each graduate will have his/her name announced as they walk across the stage to receive a congratulatory certificate. You will want to allow 1.5-2 hours for the event. We will open the doors at 7:30pm​.

Tickets are required for this event. The graduating students will also need their own tickets!! There will be a registration process and if you register on time, we guarantee that you will get three tickets (one for the student and two more for the guests). Students will have an opportunity to waitlist for more tickets.
