The Rackham Conference Travel Grant is intended to provide opportunities for Rackham graduate students to become familiar with, and participate in the life of, their academic professions. You must submit your application before the first day of the conference for travel through the end of the final term of registration. Applications will not be considered for retroactive funding.

These grants provide funds for items not normally available through the student's university. Additionally, these grants allow doctoral students to undertake significant data-gathering projects and to conduct field research in settings away from their campus that would not otherwise be possible. The Fulbright Program, the U.S. Government's flagship international exchange program, is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.

Nominations can come only from UM-Ann Arbor faculty members on behalf of their advisees and each faculty member may nominate only one of his/her advisees per year. In addition to receiving funding, fellows participate in a series of cohort-building activities designed to expand individual understanding and effectiveness through regular engagement across a wide range of disciplinary perspectives.

Center for International Business Education and Research, established by Ross School of Business in 1989, believes that supporting doctoral students through research funding is important for the development of future faculty members. To be eligible for a CIBER Award, your dissertation proposal must have been approved by a University of Michigan college, school, or department.

Three times a year, the department has a call for proposals for graduate student research funding. To be considered for research funding, you must have completed your second year in the program.

Here are the upcoming dates for the call for proposals: Oct. 1-15, Feb. 1-15, and June 1-15,

The Rackham Graduate Student Research Grant is designed to support Rackham graduate students who need assistance to carry out research that advances their progress towards their degree. Graduate students are eligible to apply for a Rackham Graduate Student Research Grant if: he/she is in good standing and if the proposed research project directly relates to or helps achieve progress towards his or her degree. Doctoral students are eligible to receive 2 awards and master's student is eligible to receive one.

The Rackham Graduate Student Emergency Fund is intended to help meet the financial needs of Rackham graduate students who encounter an emergency situation or one-time, unusual, or unforeseen expenses during their degree program.

The PhD Travel Grant are monthly awards for students that have completed their second year in the program. Applicants will be reviewed on the 15th of the month and notified if they have been approved.
