Oceanography

The minor in Oceanography is designed to provide students with broad introductions to oceanography, to the geological processes active on the seafloor and the seashore, and to the geological evolution of the ocean basins and their sediment records of past climates. Note that by LSA rules, only one course may be elected in common to a minor and a major.

LSA's innovative and flexible majors provide an interesting path for students to follow on their way to an LSA degree. From our field camp at Camp Davis in Wyoming, to lab work on campus, Michigan students have an opportunity to explore the geological sciences in exciting ways.

To Declare the Oceanography Minor

To declare the Oceanography minor, make an appointment with a department undergraduate advisor. Students can declare the major in advance of completing all of the prerequisites. Visit Earth and Environmental Sciences Advising for contact information.
