Undergraduate Students

Dean of Students Emergency Funds

Geologist, environmental scientist, oceanographer, teacher, lawyer, entrepreneur, health professional, and policy expert are some of the many careers that our undergraduates have pursued. Through lectures, labs, and seminars on campus, field trips and Camp Davis courses, Earth and Environmental Sciences students prepare to support the needs of modern society, while being responsible stewards for planet Earth in this critical period of globalization and development.

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences offers one major: Earth and Environmental Sciences, which can be undertaken as Honors programs. The Department also offers academic minors in Earth Sciences, Geology, Oceanography, and Paleontology, as well as a Teacher's Certificate Program.

To declare an Earth and Environmental Sciences major or minor, students should make an appointment with a Department faculty advisor. Visit Earth and Environmental Advising for contact information.

For University of Michigan undergraduate students who are currently pursuing an Earth and Environmental Sciences major, we offer a fifth-year MS program.
