Managing Partner
HGGC, LLC
James Learner is a Managing Partner of HGGC, LLC. He is also a member of HGGC's Policy and Investment Committee. HGGC is a middle, market private equity fund based in Palo Alto, CA.
Prior to joining HGGC, Learner was a partner with the international law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. During his 25-year career at K&E, Learner principally represented private equity funds in connection with their acquisition, divestiture, financing and fund formation activities.
Based in London the last 12 years, he was in charge of the firm's European operations and was a member of Kirkland & Ellis' 15-person Firmwide Management Committee.
Learner graduated with a JD from Harvard Law School in 1987.
