Below is information for LSA students receiving college credit for Advanced Placement test performance or International Baccalaureate (IB) credit. If you are not an LSA student, contact your academic advisor for your school's policies.
This information is applicable through the 2022-23 academic year.
AP/IB credits are out-of-residence. Please review major/minor requirements for limits on out-of-residence credits.
Students who have not yet received their AP or IB scores by the time they arrive for U-M orientation are encouraged to take the placement exam. Students who have received AP or IB credit for Spanish, French, Italian, or Portuguese do not need to take the placement exam.
