The Semester in Detroit spring/summer and fall programs accept undergraduate students from all schools and departments at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. All students, from Freshmen to Seniors or Super Seniors are eligible to apply.
Students from Grand Valley State University and UM-Dearborn are eligible to apply for fall programs only. The same application eligibility applies to GVSU and Dearborn students (all departments, all class standings).
The most successful program participants typically have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, though those with less than a 3.0 GPA are still eligible to apply but must explain their particular situation. Applicants should have a strong interest in the city of Detroit and in community-service learning.
