Students request recommendation letters through the MCompass system. Letters should speak to why the student would be a good fit for an intensive immersion experience in a social-justice based Urban Studies program. This includes speaking to the student's capability to take on an internship, participate in rigorous academic courses, and engage deeply in all aspects of the program. Only one letter is required, though you may submit two if desired. Your recommendations may be professional or academic, but they should speak well to your capabilities and character. If you choose to only submit one letter, it must be an academic reference. If you are a first-year student, recommendations from high school teachers and mentors are acceptable.
Note: recommendation letters may be submitted after the application deadline, but a final decision about your admittance to the program will not be determined until we receive a letter.
If recommenders have any issues submitting their letters, please have them email firstname.lastname@example.org.
