Community Partners

Developing long-term, reciprocal relationships with Detroit's people, neighborhoods, non-profits, cultural organizations, small businesses, CDCs and civic leaders is fundamental to our program mission and principles.  Fortunately, Semester in Detroit is privileged to have a long list of community partners doing amazing work all around our great city!

  • Every term, our students spend at least 200 hours each interning with - and at no cost to - our community partners.
  • We buy local and support Detroit's growing array of small and independently owned businesses.
  • Our classes and programs are always open to the general public - we believe we are all lifelong students!
