Ever wonder what it’s actually like to spend your fall semester in Detroit? Sure, you can peruse our program curriculum, or find answers to your questions on the FAQ page, but it's time to take an inside look at the day-to-day life of a SiD student.
For more than a decade, SiD has attracted hundreds of students with a vast array of majors, at different phases of their college experience, and from many schools. Meet Erica and Kira: two students who just completed the fall 2018 SiD program.
Semester in Detroit transforms U-M students through reciprocal relationships with the people, organizations, and neighborhoods of Detroit. By living, learning, and working in the city, our students engage with community leaders in transformative work - strengthening themselves as well as the wider region.
Semester in Detroit is funded by the College of LSA and administered through the Residential College.
We strive to support our students and faculty on the frontlines of learning and research; to steward our planet, our community, our campus. To do this, Semester in Detroit needs you—because the world needs Victors.
