In this talk we shall discuss endoscopy of a quasi-split connected reductive group G defined over a local field. We will work out some basic examples of endoscopic groups and then go over the set up needed to formulate the fundamental lemma relating the orbital integrals of G to the stable orbital integrals on its endoscopic groups. This talk is designed to be accessible to those with some basic familiarity of semisimple or reductive groups.
