About
Sophia Chen graduated from New York University with a BA in Anthropology where she studied perceptions of authenticity and the amateur in porn and how contemporary tube sites have contributed to the decontextualization of pornographic media. She plans to continue this line of study and is particularly interested in how digital piracy has shaped the online porn industry. She is also interested in how the availability of free, pirated porn leads to an undervaluation of labor and more generally in the way social perceptions of porn are inextricably tied to the economics of porn. In her free time, Sophia likes to go mushroom foraging.
