Welcome to Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at CSP
To help support our students, there is now a CAPS counselor conveniently located within CSP. The embedded CAPS counselor is available to provide supportive mental health services for CSP students as well as information about additional forms of support, when needed. The counselor is available by appointment only. All services are free and confidential.
Short-term individual therapy services are available for currently enrolled U-M students within the Comprehensive Studies Program.
Typical reasons for seeking counseling may include:
- Self-esteem
- Relationship issues
- Academic concerns
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Family concerns
- Adjustment difficulties
How to Schedule an Appointment
Students who wish to schedule an appointment with the embedded CAPS counselor, Courtney Eaddy-Richardson, PsyD, may send an email to [email protected].
For urgent or crisis needs, please call CAPS at (734) 764-8312 or go to the CAPS office located on the 4th floor of the Michigan Union.

Need Help with an Urgent Mental Health Concern?

UM CAPS offers after hours support to any UM student or any person concerned about a UM student. You will have the option to leave a message or to Press 0 to speak to a licensed mental health professional. This is an extension of Counseling and Psychological Services and can assist a caller in any mental health crisis situation. Counselors can also assist callers in accessing CAPS or other campus resources. When appropriate, CAPS staff will follow up with the caller on the next business day. - During Business Hours: Stop In or Call (734) 764-8312
