Greetings from Dr. Michael Gould, New Director of Center for World Performance Studies

Professor Michael Gould of School of Music, Theatre & Dance and the Residential College, appointed Director of CWPS beginning June 2017.

The Center for World Performance Studies promotes the scholarly study of music, dance, and theater and, by extension, all forms of expressive arts across the globe including Asia, Africa, The Middle East, Latin America and the Pacific and Atlantic Islands as well as marginalized groups in Europe and America. Through interdisciplinary and engaged dialogues between scholars, students, and performance specialists from around the world, the Center fosters intellectual work that foregrounds the intimate connections between artistic practices and their complex and dynamically changing cultural environments. Read more...
