About
I earned my PhD in Spanish Literature and Cultural Studies from Georgetown University. I focused on modern Latin American Literature, particularly on 20th century writers such as Felisberto Hernández and César Aira. Besides academic writing, I have written and published some short stories. In 2020 I completed an MFA in Spanish Creative Writing at the University of Iowa, where I finished my first novel.
Some of my favorite classes to teach were: Latin American Film, and Writing in Spanish. I really like teaching language at any level since I always enjoy interacting with my students. On a side note, I worked as a music journalist all through my undergraduate years and I keep up with current music. I still argue that The Velvet Underground is better than The Beatles.
