About
Gabriella Liburdi is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she double majored in Italian & Spanish and minored in Cultural Anthropology. She earned two master’s degrees from New York University, in Foreign language Education and Spanish Language & Translation. Gabriella has been teaching Spanish at the University of Michigan since Fall 2018. Before then, her experience includes teaching Spanish in middle school and elementary school both in Ann Arbor and New York City as well as teaching English as a foreign language to both children and adults in Madrid, Spain.
It is Gabriella’s goal to make students’ language learning experience meaningful. She aims to make students feel comfortable speaking in Spanish and loves watching her students build friendships as they work together throughout the semester with their classmates each day, always in partners and small groups so that all students can take full advantage of speaking as much Spanish as possible. She believes learning a language is not only about speaking, but about understanding culture as well. Because of this, Gabriella often shares stories and experiences about her time living in Madrid to hopefully encourage students to study abroad and have that memorable experience for themselves.
