To date, the Program in the Environment Alumni Community has 554 total living alumni. 336 of these alumni were concentrators, earning either a B.S. or B.A. in Environment. The remaining 218 Alumni minored in the Environment. A large majority of our alumni secure long-term or short-term employment immediately after graduating from Michigan. These job positions range from research assistant to program administration, research scientists to GIS Analysts, and from naturalist to forest firefighter. Alumni are located in 27 states, with a large majority that remain or return to Michigan.
Additionally, alumni spend some time working or volunteering abroad. The most common experience abroad is through the Peace Corps. Countries in which PitE alumni have been placed are Mexico, Cape Verde, and Mauritania. Other volunteer and work experiences have been undertaken in England, France, China, Australia, and Belize, to name a few.
