iClicker Classic is the original instructor software which allows students to participate in polling using iClicker remotes. When using iClicker Classic, all student data is stored locally on your computer or flash drive. Question types include multiple choice and true/false.
iClicker Classic software is free for all faculty. Students must purchase an iClicker remote which runs about $40. (available at the TechShop).
For new iClicker users, we recommend using iClicker Cloud for several reasons:
- iClicker Cloud is free for both instructors and students
- all iClicker data is stored in the cloud rather than locally
- ability to poll in on-site classes as well as remotely
- increased polling questions types (multiple choice, true/false, numeric, short response, image)

If you are an existing iClicker Classic user, consider switching to iClicker Cloud. Please schedule a consultation here so we can discuss your options and decide which iClicker version is right for your class.
You can update your iClicker Classic software by opening iClicker, clicking Help, then clicking Check for Update. You can also stop by 2014 Modern Languages Building (MLB) to pick up a new software flash drive and/or instructor remote.
