Explore a Michigan Graduate Degree - October 17-19, 2019
The Department of Statistics invites juniors, seniors, recently graduated students, and Master’s students to visit us for a preview event. We welcome applications from students who will contribute to our department's mission of promoting diversity and inclusion in the fields of Statistics and Data Science. This event is a collaboration with the College of Literature, Science and the Arts (LSA) and Rackham Graduate School
This event is a department-funded opportunity to explore graduate education, participate in admissions workshops, meet world-renowned faculty and current graduate students, and learn about life in Ann Arbor. During your visit, you'll learn about:
- state of the art research happening at the University of Michigan
- the admissions process
- what graduate school is like and how it works
Preview Weekend events are open to domestic (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or students with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival status) undergraduate juniors, seniors, recent graduates or master’s students who have outstanding academic qualifications, show exceptional potential for scholarly success in a graduate program, and demonstrate promise for contributing to wider academic, professional, or civic communities. Eligible students will also meet one or more of the criteria for the university’s Rackham Merit Fellowship program. For more information on these criteria, please visit the Rackham Merit Fellowship website.
If you are interested in exploring the graduate programs in Statistics and Data Science in Michigan, but do not meet the eligibility criteria to participate in Fall Preview Weekend, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org! We would be happy to answer your questions regarding the application process and academic life in the department.
Please note that the application includes submission of a CV/resume, a current unofficial transcript, and the names and contact information of at least one recommender. It is advised you submit your application sooner than later to ensure your recommenders have enough time to complete the recommendation form ahead of the deadline.
