New Technologies in the Medical School Admissions Process

Description of research project:

In the past 10 years, a type of test called a situational judgment test has been developed and introduced into the medical school admissions process, and into health professions education programs more broadly. Using a range of qualitative methods, we seek to understand how this type of test produces a score of an applicant’s personal characteristics and interpersonal skills, and how these quantifications are given meaning and consequence during the medical school admissions process.
