Description of research project: create an annotated bibliography of recent readings appropriate for Soc 285 “Social Life in the Digital World,”
Description of work that will be assigned to research assistants:
(1) In consultation with Digital Studies and Sociology Librarians, create appropriate bibliography of scholarly books and articles from the past 3 years related to social dimensions of the internet, smart phones, virtual reality, AI, and other digital media.
(2) Skim each reading and create a brief file note indicating the appropriateness of the reading for Soc 285 based on reading level, scholarly substance, and relevance tocourse topics.
Average hours of work per week: 3-6 hours
Range of credit hours students can earn: 1-2 credits, depending on the interest of the student.
