Student Leadership

Organizational Studies prides itself on its community atmosphere. As part of our commitment to our community, we create opportunities for our students to advance their knowledge, apply their learning, and advance their leadership within the program.

OS Peer Mentors:

Two OS seniors assist incoming juniors in the development of their Pathways statement, help create social programming for the OS student body, and assist in recruiting new students to the program.

Sam Hedeman and Kylie Wyatt are the 2023-2024 OS Peer Mentors!

Have questions about OS - Make an advising appointment here to meet with Sam or Kylie

OS Event Planning Committee Leads:

This team works in the brainstorming, conceptualization, and coordination of social events to reinforce the OS community. Service projects to study nights to social events - they are your go-to for community building events throughout the year.

Reach out to the 2023-2024 leads, Nancy Chen and Marne Fox, if you have any questions or ideas!

OS Social Media Lead:

The OS Social lead actively participates in the development of and carrying out the social media strategy of OS through our Facebook and Instagram pages. They bring ideas and creative energy to the social media platforms.

2023-2024 lead is Angel Huang. Let her know if you have a fun idea or would like to be featured!

OS Recruitment Team:

These OS students reach out to U-M faculty teaching OS pre-req courses, student organizations, and residential staff to organize recruitment events. As part of the OS Leadership team, you will see them at events like Festi-Fall, OS Info Night, and around the offices.

2023-2024 leads are Charlotte Gu and Lindsey Skole. Connect with them if you have interest in volunteering at an event!

OS DEI Student Leads:

The DEI student team works with the recruitment team on recruitment of students to the program and the application workshop. They also work with the event planning team on generating more inclusive events.

2023-2024 leads are Ayah Bajwa and Sophia Sircar. Connect with them to attend a DEI event!

OS DEI Committee:

The DEI committee works with faculty and staff on DEI-focused curriculum development, faculty DEI engagement, development of DEI workshops for the greater OS population, and the OS climate assessment. They also host a town hall for students mid-semester.
