Summer Internships for U-M Students

A number of regional partner organizations have offered to provide summer internships for University of Michigan undergraduates with an interest in Great Lakes related issues. Applications will be due on March 20th and internship funding of up to $3,000 will be provided to successful applicants. While all U-M undergraduates are eligible to apply for these sponsored internships, preference will be given to LSA students.

Application and Selection Process:

  • Review the internship descriptions (which are linked below) to decide which internships best match your interests, abilities, and availability
  • Update your cover letter and resume; if you are applying for multiple internships, address your cover letter to the “GLTS Team” and not the partner organization
  • Follow this link to complete your application form and upload the necessary documentation
  • Applications will be screened by the GLTS Team, which will then forward materials of qualified applicants to our partners, who will make final hiring decisions
  • The GLTS team will reach out to you (either way) about the final decision and begin introductions to the partner organization
