Application Questions

As a part of your application to HSSP, you will be asked to write two short essays on the following questions:

  1. The Michigan Learning Communities are committed to building communities of engaged and enthusiastic students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. In what ways would you contribute to your Michigan Learning Community and bring a unique perspective or viewpoint? (suggested word count: 150-350 words)
  2. HSSP seeks to engage students in the exploration of health careers as well as challenges and opportunities within the health care system. What careers and issues are you passionate about exploring and why do they matter to you? (suggested word count: 200-500 words)

Note: We have access to your Common Application essays. Please avoid submitting similar essays as one that was previously submitted. We find that those who are most successful give serious consideration to the question being asked and avoid trying to make the previously crafted essay fit the question.

Note that the MLC Application will time out, so we advise writing these essays ahead of time and pasting them into the application.
