Technology Services provides several security services to faculty, researchers, staff, and students.
Service Status: Active

LSA Technology Services' Infrastructure group provides the following security-related services for the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA).

Audit Logs & Monitoring

We configure servers, firewalls, networks, and other computer devices to ensure that audit logs are appropriately configured and maintained. We analyze, monitor, and respond to events indicating potential misuse and/or intrusion of LSA computing resources.

Education, User Awareness, & Consulting

We provide documentation, face-to-face consultation and training regarding safe computing and data protection.

Incident Response

We serve as a point of contact between LSA and the U-M Information Assurance team (IA) in the evaluation, investigation, and recording of information security incidents. We participate in auditing, reviewing, reporting and containing IT security events.

Security Policy

LSA Technology Services security experts help implement U-M security policies and processes within LSA and develop local LSA security policies. They also work to identify the steps that LSA faculty, researchers, and students should take to meet these obligations and mitigate security risks.

Vulnerability Management

We scan, identify, report, and remediate security vulnerabilities allowing us to provide high-level of security support for the college. This includes patching operating systems and applications, scanning web sites to detect vulnerable code, and coordinating risk assessments and risk treatment plans.
