The Center for Social Solutions is thrilled to announce that the American Academy of Political and Social Science (AAPSS) has named Dr. Earl Lewis as the 2022 Walter Lippmann Fellow. 

Dr. Lewis is part of a cohort of seven honorees and joins a group of 152 AAPSS Fellows. 

“Each year, the Academy welcomes a new class of Fellows whose influential research showcases the importance of the social sciences in addressing issues ranging from racialand economic inequality to extremism in political parties,” said Marta Tienda, presidentof AAPSS. “The 2022 class of AAPSS Fellows includes social and political scientists whose distinguished scholarship has and continues to elevate prominent policy discussions.”

Lewis' work has contributed significantly to the ways historians, humanists, and social scientists understand contemporary issues around race using historical context. In addition to leading the strategic direction of the Center for Social Solutions, he is currently principal investigator of The Andew W. Mellon Foundation-funded reparations project "Crafting Democratic Futures: Situating Colleges and Universities in Community-based Reparations Solutions."
