The Kelsey Museum bids a fond farewell to Director of Education Catherine (Cathy) Person, who has accepted a position as head of educational programs for the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia.
Since starting at the Kelsey in November 2013, Cathy has had a transformative effect on the Education Department, spearheading imaginative programs and outreach strategies that strengthened the museum’s engagement with K–12 students and university course participants alike. In addition to increasing the Kelsey’s community and campus involvement, she significantly expanded and formalized the docent program, co-curated the Ancient Color exhibition in 2019, and oversaw the development of the ambitious DiSKO project, among other initiatives.
Cathy’s last day at the Kelsey Museum is Friday, January 5, 2024. Her Kelsey colleagues will certainly miss her ingenuity and leadership, but they wish her the best in her new position!
