Join the Teacher Advisory Group

• Work with the educational staff at the Kelsey Museum to brainstorm and recommend new educational programs and resources for teachers to utilize in their classrooms and on-site museum visits.
• Evaluate current and future Kelsey Museum K–12 educational programs to ensure that they meet the needs of teachers, school and district standards in the state of Michigan, and national common core standards.
• Work with the educational staff at the Kelsey Museum to develop new classroom instructional resources for teaching about the ancient world. Pilot the Kelsey’s Teacher Resource Guides for classrooms. 
• Be an advocate for the Kelsey Museum’s educational programming and resources in your community. 

• The Teacher Advisory Group will consist of 10–12 teachers.
  • 25% of teachers will be from grade 7 (where the ancient world is taught in the state of Michigan).
  • 75% of teachers will be from other K–12 grade levels.
• Teachers will be from a mix of public, charter, and private schools.

• Meetings run throughout the school year.
  • Evening Zoom meetings will occur in October, January, March, and May.
  • Teachers must attend 50% of meetings.
• Two-year team limits.

• Free field trip opportunities for you and your students to test the educational programs developed.
• Special invitations to events at the Kelsey Museum (exhibitions openings, programming, lectures, etc).
• Free membership to the Kelsey Museum.
• Teacher certification credits.
