Security

The Kelsey Museum is safeguarded by members of the U-M Division of Public Safety & Security (DPSS) Museum Security Department. Museum Security officers undergo special training to protect patrons and collections, as well as museum staff and buildings, while providing excellent customer service and ensuring full accessibility for visitors.

Under the supervision of John Williams, the Museum Security Department is responsible for the overall safety and security of the Museum of Natural History, the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, and the University of Michigan Museum of Art, and officers rotate between these venues on a regular basis.
