Honors Thesis Submission

Congratulations on completing your Honors senior thesis!

The Honors Program would like to recognize the significance your scholarship by making it permanently available to the academic community. This can be done by depositing your thesis in the Honors Thesis collection of the University of Michigan’s Deep Blue electronic archive.

Participating in this program will have many benefits; most importantly, your work will be permanently accessible to scholars around the world. The thesis archive will also be a great resource for current UM students, giving them examples to set the standard for their work. It will also give the Honors Program a comprehensive, evolving picture of the thesis work students are doing in different departments. Additionally, permanent archiving of your senior thesis may be useful to you in your career and post-graduate work.

Thank you for participating in this important archiving project. Please contact the Honors Program at if you have any questions.

Intellectual Property Information

Intellectual Property Information

When you deposit your senior thesis in the University’s Deep Blue archive, it will become a permanent part of the University’s intellectual legacy. Deep Blue makes these works accessible to the scholarly community for the long term, providing a single, permanent URL for reference. Unlike most scholarly publishing, placing your thesis in Deep Blue involves no transfer of intellectual property rights. You can, and should read the Deep Blue intellectual property policy:

and the accompanying author’s deposit agreement

This short author’s agreement asks you to warrant that your work is original and does not, to the best of your knowledge, infringe or violate the rights of others. For most theses, this should be simple and clear. If your thesis includes images or other material which might be subject to copyright protection, you should begin by discussing the issue with your thesis advisor. If questions emerge, we encourage you to contact the University Copyright Office ( Please feel free to consult with the Honors program as well.
