Graduation

Graduation Ceremonies:

There are many opportunities for graduates to celebrate across campus, with three graduation periods every year: the end of April/beginning of May, August, and December

U-M has two campus-wide commencement ceremonies: Spring Commencement (at the conclusion of the Winter term in late April/early May), and Fall Commencement (in December). August (Summer) graduates are eligible to participate in either the Spring or the December ceremony. For campus-wide ceremony information, link here.

The Honors Program has its own graduation ceremony and reception each year during the Spring Commencement activities. Details become available for each graduating class in late February or early March. You can navigate to this information through the Graduation menu. Graduates are also encouraged to check with their department for additional graduation events.

See below for additional graduation information. If you have any other graduation-specific questions that are not answered in the resources below, you may also email ask.honors@umich.edu.

Timeline: The LSA Honors Program generally shares the same graduation timeline as mainstream LSA.
