Ben Mangrum has been awarded the Bredvold Prize for Scholarly Publication for his book, Land of Tomorrow - Postwar Fiction and the Crisis of American Liberalism (Oxford university Press, 2019). The prize is awarded by the Department of English to an untenured member of the faculty who has produced a work of real distinction.

Professor Mangrum's research and teaching consider literatures from the twentieth- and twenty-first centuries, with special interests in environmental studies, the idea of tragedy, digital studies, intellectual history, and political theory.
