The Huron Valley Chapter of the Michigan Archaeological Society presents an online lecture by Dr. Steven Dorland, assistant professor in Great Lakes archaeology at Grand Valley State University, on Thursday, February 15, 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Dorland will discuss a community-based archaeology research program in partnership with Mississaugas of Credit First Nation in southern Ontario. Dorland and his team have worked to develop a solid foundational basis for Indigenous youth to learn and thrive in archaeology, so they can tell their own stories, focus on community needs and interests, and have greater representation in academic and professional fields of archaeology. Everyone is welcome to this lecture. To join, click on the link and use the passcode: HVCMAS (all caps!) on Feb. 15th.
