On Sunday, October 8, visit the Hamtramck Historical Museum from 1 to 3 p.m. to celebrate the launch of the Hamtramck Explorer web app and digital atlas. The interactive atlas features layers of historical, spatial, and archaeological data, and the interface allows users to contribute stories and data to it. The Hamtramck Explorer is the culmination of a multiyear collaboration between the Hamtramck Historical Museum, Wayne State's Department of Anthropology, Michigan Tech's Geospatial Research Facility, and the efforts of many Wayne Anthro students who participated in the associated excavations and NEH-funded digitization project.
The Hamtramck Historical Museum is at 9525 Joseph Campau Avenue in Hamtramck, Michigan. This event is free and open to the public. Read more here.
