All intro labs (141, 151, 161, 241, 251, 261) are open to the maximum number of people that we can support in each section. The room capacities are set by the fire marshal for the City of Ann Arbor and we are unable to over enroll the sections as doing so would be a violation of the fire code. If spots open up, the system will automatically issue permissions in waitlist order. We encourage waitlisted students to regularly check their email as those permissions do expire.
General Waitlist Policy
Wolverine Access is set up to issue permissions automatically in waitlist order if spots become available. They do not automatically enroll you in the course. We encourage waitlisted students to regularly check their email as the permissions do expire. Once a permission is issued, you are automatically removed from the waitlist. If the permission goes unused a new permission will be automatically issued to the next person on the waitlist and you will need to add yourself to the bottom of the waitlist.
Courses with Instructor Consent
If you receive the error indicating that instructor consent is required you’ll need to reach out to the instructor of the section that you’re trying to register for. If they agree to allow you to join the class, please forward the email with their confirmation, along with your UMID, and the course/section you’re trying to register for (ex PHYSICS 140-001) to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’d be happy to look into it for you.
Bypassing Physics 351
If you are interested in bypassing the PHYSICS 351 enforced prerequisite, you will need to meet with a faculty advisor to discuss a waiver before any registration permissions can be issued. Appointments can be made via our department website.
The Department of Physics follows the LSA Grade Grievance policy. If you have questions regarding this policy, please contact email@example.com.
