This is Romando’s second feature on the While We Were Away Podcast and we are very grateful to hear more stories and experiences from him. When talking about relationships while incarcerated, Romando said “In Prison, you befriend people and they go home or they die. It takes a part of you away.” He discusses how this made it challenging for him to want to maintain relationships with anyone for fear of getting hurt. However, despite this fear and this knowledge of possible loss, Romando discusses how he couldn’t help but form relationships and build community with PCAP before and after coming home and the importance of these people in his life today. In this episode, Romando and the hosts discuss politicization and the Black Lives Matter Movement, maintaining relationships during and after incarceration, and the
many important people that have blessed his life.”
