The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded Professor Jeff Heath funding as part of its Documenting Endangered Languages program. This program is a joint venture between the National Science Foundation and NEH that is dedicated to the documentation and preservation of endangered languages. 

This year, the NEH awarded a total of $21.7 million to 208 humanities projects. Of those, ten were focused on linguistic research and language related research, totaling $1,001,920. Heath received funding for his research, “Documentation of Mber and Tiefo-D Languages of West Africa.”
