Linguistics Club

The Michigan Linguistics Club is an academic and social forum for all students who are interested in language and linguistics.  Hang out on the cozy fourth floor of Lorch Hall with friends who won’t roll their eyes when you geek out about the etymology of the word ‘helicopter,’* the awesome morphology of Finnish, or the many writing systems of Japanese.  Our meetings are weekly, and feature discussions and student presentations, language games, screenings of linguistically interesting films, and Q/A sessions with resident and visiting professors.  Whether you’re in four Ling classes this term and need to bounce thesis ideas off someone, or you just think language is weird but, like, kinda cool (you’re right!), then check us out.

Ling Club is on Maize Pages and Facebook.
