Study Abroad

This page is for students doing study abroad through CGIS.

Study abroad can be a great option for linguistics students wishing to work on language acquisition or study second languages in their places of origin. There are multiple reasons for students to study abroad, including:

  • Working on major/minor requirements** (see residency requirements below)

  • Completing LSA Distribution requirements

  • Completing the Language requirement

  • Working on coursework for other majors and minors

Petitioning Classes for Linguistics Credit

Students may submit petitions for study abroad courses they wish to have considered for Linguistics Major/Minor credit by doing the following:

  • Obtaining a course description and link for their intended class

  • Obtaining a syllabus for their intended class

  • Submitting these materials using InfoReady (click button below)
