Andries Coetzee, Linguistics Professor and Director of the African Studies Center at Michigan, was featured in a recent update on the Humanities Collaboratory project From Africa to Patagonia: Voices of Displacement

As a native speaker of Afrikaans, Andries was the original faculty member from Michigan to receive funds to explore the linguistic features of the Patagonian Boer community in 2012. Since then, the project has taken many new and unexpected directions, thanks to generous support from the Humanities Collaboratory.

In the video below, created for the October project update, Principal Investigator Nick Henriksen introduces Andries, who talks about his trajectory as a collaborator and his perspective on interdisciplinarity within the project.
