The Linguistics Department congratulates U-M Professor Nick Ellis on receiving the 2019 Distinguished Scholarship and Service Award from the American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL). Ellis is Professor of Psychology, Professor of Linguistics, and Research Scientist, English Language Institute.

The AAAL Distinguished Scholarship and Service Award (DSSA) recognizes and honors a distinguished scholar for her/his scholarship and service to the profession in general and to the American Association for Applied Linguistics in particular.

The DSSA is one of several annual awards given by AAAL each year. The awards were presented during the association’s 2019 annual conference, held March 9-12 in Atlanta, Georgia.
