Dr. Luis Zaman awarded $1.6 million NSF Grant
Luis and his colleagues Jeffrey Barrick from UT Austin and Richard Lenski from MSU, along with Israeli colleagues Hadas Hawlena and Shimon Harrus funded jointly through the Binational Science Foundation, will be studying the evolution of evolvability. They will be combining in silico evolution using digital organisms and microbial experiments using Bartonella bacteria in their natural hosts to understand what drives parasites to evolve to be even better at evolving.
