CSCS announces the Charlie Doering Strategic Fund

The Center is thrilled to honor Charlie's memory by funding the ideals that he was passionate about.

The Center for the Study of Complex Systems

announces the establishment of the

Charlie Doering Strategic Fund

Charlie served as CSCS Director for six years where he presided over a period of expansion in our undergraduate curriculum and created a supportive community of interdisciplinary faculty and scholars.

In order to sustain these achievements, we’ve created the Charlie Doering Strategic Fund which will continue to support the key components of his vision. Charlie was a devoted teacher and scholar who believed postdoctoral fellows were an important complement to our core faculty.

While our goal is to provide more funding for postdoctoral support - in terms of providing funds for travel to conferences and other learning experiences for this group, we would eventually like to raise the necessary amount to fund a permanent Charlie Doering Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Some donations have already been received, and we plan to focus this years' Giving Blueday on getting the fund off to a great start.

Donations can be made online any time on this page or by the methods listed below.

Visit Charlie's memorial page HERE.
