The Department of Communication and Media offers many kinds of events, most free and open to the public. We organize and sponsor numerous lectures, workshops and conferences over the course of the academic year. Our programming covers a wide range of topics and features presenters from diverse disciplines and is designed to foster an understanding of the mass media and emerging media.

Jill Katz (BBA ’91) is an award-winning Executive Producer of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and spent nearly 10 years working at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Prior to her career at The Daily Show, Jill freelanced in various NYC-based productions, mostly in the comedy, children’s, and game show genres. Her vast production experience includes everything from line producing and show development to her current specialization in physical production for live-action shows and events. Jill’s work has been recognized with 5 Primetime Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award and multiple additional nominations.
