About
Andrew grew up in a bilingual household speaking Cantonese and English. In 2020, after studying with professors including but not limited to the late Corinne Pache, he graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a B.A. in Classical Languages and a minor in Linguistics. He is interested in poetry of various genres and periods, and most recently he finds himself drawn to, in rough chronological order: the Homeric Iliad and Odyssey, Greek lyric poetry, and Horace’s Odes. He often enjoys thinking about and through: poetics; metaphor (from Greek metaphorá, meaning "a transference"), especially spatial ones; historical linguistics, including Indo-European; and translation (from Latin translātiō, "a carrying across"). In his spare time (and space), he enjoys listening to music, exercising, and spending time (and space) with friends and family.
