Completing General Degree Requirements as an English Major

  • Courses that transfer with the U-M subject ENGLISH cannot be used for Area Distribution for English majors. Therefore the following Delta classes cannot be used for area distribution as they are listed on the General Degree Requirement Transfer Guide.

    • ENG  201H, 219, 220, 221, 222, 223, 224, 226, 227, 228, 229, 232, 241, 242, 245, 262, 268,269, 271, 272, 274, 276, 277, 278, 283, 285 cannot be used to fulfill humanities distribution
    • ENG  120, 253, 254, 257, 258, 259 cannot be used to fulfill creative expression distribution
  • First Year Writing Requirement (FYWR): ENG 112 and 112H can fulfill the FYWR for English majors.
